Annually, a bunch of friends, professionally colleagues and "wedding people" get together and take one of our limo buses out to enjoy a night of shenanigans before our busy season kicks off. This past Friday was no different. We went enjoyed some really good food, better spirits and salsa dancing. Some of us REALLY, REALLY enjoyed spirits, I was the designated driver from the drop off location to home so I was water or coke all night. Some of you may be thinking "boo hoo, no fun" but that is okay with me. I enjoy spirits but realized that I do not like the way I feel after. In my youth, I could bounce back and move onto the next party. In my current state of a little more than middle age, I cannot handle the next day without the appropriate amount of sleep. I'm talking I feel hungover but I consumed no alcohol. Next year I will need to make time for a nap before I partake in late night, pre -wedding season shenanigans. Sucks getting old

Taxes and adult stuff
Today it is a cool, rainy spring day. It is also 1 month until tax day. I guess I need to get this shit done. I have avoided, buried, and ignored the paperwork on my desk. My accountant even emailed me to remind me to get my documents to him. This is serious procrastination, all I have to do is drop documents at my accountants office which is one mile from my house!
So instead of doing what I am supposed to do as a responsible adult, I log onto my blog to post my second posting. After this, I will cruise Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest because I can.
Sometimes being an adult is too much responsibility.
On the plus side, my lilac bush has buds!

Let me introduce myself
This is my first attempt at blogging and I have no idea what I am doing.
I call it the Toasted Marshmallow because a friend/co-worker of mine told me that is what I am, crusty on the outside and warm and gooey on the inside.
My husband and I own our own business and, for the most part, enjoy it. We have kids, dogs, family and each other. At no time do we like all of those at the same time. We may love them all the time but LIKE is a different story.
My BFF's are Beth, Cara, and Becky. These girls know most everything there is to know about me. The trick is to let them know different things about me. Beth knows where the bodies are buried. Cara is my moral compass keeping me on the right side of the law and Becky is my business partner, shopping cohort and upper crust BFF. In a perfect world my BFF circle would include Jen Mann and Chelsea Handler. These two women are my spirit BFF's. I could be my total self and not have to bite my tongue with everything that pops into my head. I do a lot of tongue biting. I also do shoulder-checks in crowds and I mutter "fucker" under my breathe 1,000 times a day. Oh yea, I also cuss, all day long and into the night.
I come from a large extended family and I LOVE these people. They make me laugh and we always laugh, even at funerals. Well, especially at funerals. It's who we are. These are the folks that are beyond BFF's, they laugh with me, cry with me and allow me to bitch to high heavens and totally get it because they have been with me our whole lives. They have my back!
I have siblings but for the most part, they bring too much drama into my life so I like to keep them at a healthy distance. It's what works for me.
My parents are alive and well hanging with Mickey Mouse. They are the only people alive that move to Florida and still complain about how cold it is. If my father flew in planes, I am sure he would move to Hawaii for the heat but there would be that one day a year that goes below 70 degrees!
One more thing, I love Koalas. I saw them at the San Diego Zoo when I was 12 and have been smitten ever since.
I cannot guarantee to keep this up but I hope you enjoy it!
